  1. Laburnum- (Commonly called golden chain is a genus of two species of small trees in the subfamily Faboideae of the pea family Fabaceae, common laburnum and alpine laburnum. All parts of the plant are poisonous.)Meaning: Neglect. “Why have you forsaken me?”
  2. Larkspur- (The endangered flower Delphinium luteum, the yellow larkspur, is a perennial of the buttercup family.) Meaning: Trifling. “Why trifle with my emotions. Give me a definite answer.”
  3. Lavender- (The lavenders-lavandula- are genus of 39 species of flowering plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae. ) Meaning: Negation. “I like you very much, but this, I’m sure, is not love.”
